Evaluating the Effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on the Socio-Emotional, Behavioral, and Adaptive Functioning in Diverse and Marginalized Pediatric Patients Experiencing Chronic Pain

A study from Children's Hospital Los Angeles investigators found that marginalized youth who experienced chronic pain and had at least four or more adverse childhood events or related life events had notably higher distress and reduced adaptive skills compared with their peers.
