Risk of diabetes when you take statins

In a group of 100 people who don’t take statins, about 4 to 5 will get diabetes in the next 4 years. In a group of 100 people who do take statins, about 5 will get diabetes in the next 4 years.

Statins may slightly raise the risk of diabetes in some people.
