Ringworm of the Skin

Ringworm is a skin infection caused by a fungus. It usually causes a round rash on the skin that may itch. It grows well in warm, moist areas, such as locker rooms and swimming pools, and in skin folds.

You can get ringworm by touching someone who has it or by sharing towels, clothing, or sports equipment. It is often easily treated with an antifungal cream.
