Don’t let financial problems stop you from getting the treatment you need; there are resources and organizations that may be able to help you..

Always check with your physician or pharmacist if you have any questions about your medications.

The following organizations have Internet sites that provide information about Patient Assistance Programs for you and your doctor. Several of these sites also have information about additional resources for obtaining financial assistance for prescription drugs.

HelpingPatients.org
HelpingPatients.org is sponsored by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), which represents many of the country's research-based pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. HelpingPatients.org is an interactive Web site that provides a link to thousands of medicines offered through hundreds of patient assistance programs sponsored by PhRMA member companies, non-member companies and government and local organizations.

NeedyMeds.com
NeedyMeds.com is a website, which contains recent and accurate information on patient assistance programs. The producers of the site, a social worker and a physician, regularly contact every drug company to check on the accuracy of the information. The information on the site is obtained directly from the drug manufacturers. The site provides information about the programs, access to program applications, a comparison of drug company card programs, and updated federal poverty guidelines.

RxHope.com
RxHope.com is a web site for physicians to submit applications for patient assistance over the Internet. A patient can locate the information necessary for the doctor to request the medications that the patient needs. The site also provides the following resources: a list of state and federal drug assistance programs for all 50 states; a drug information center to learn about specific medications; and, links for many pharmaceutical companies and healthcare support organizations.

Volunteers in Health Care-RxAssist Program
Volunteers in Health Care is a nationwide, non-profit program established as a resource for health care providers who wish to develop health-related programs for people in their communities who do not have health insurance. One of their programs is RxAssist, which provides information about available medication assistance programs. RxAssist site has information for physicians on how to apply for patient assistance programs sponsored by pharmaceutical companies.
